Three new marinas will be constructed in the western province of Mugla. The new marinas will be built in Datca and Dalaman towns as well as Oren hamlet of Milas town of Mugla, which will increase the number of marinas in Mugla to 16.

Marinas TurkeyIzmir Transportation District Director Omer Tekin told A.A on Monday that the foundation of the marina in Dalaman would be laid within the next three months. He added that building a marina in Dalaman had been on the agenda for 15 years.

Noting that Dalaman marina would have 1,200 yacht capacity, Tekin said that it would contribute to tourism of both Dalaman and Turkey.

Tekin said that there was a little problem regarding the marina in Datca, adding that the foundation of that marina would be laid after the problem was solved. He noted that the tender for Datca marina was held previously.

Noting that the tender for Oren marina was also held, Tekin said that they would hire a field to build the marina.

We expect to complete the construction of all three marinas within 1.5 years, he said.

Tekin said that 13 of Turkey's largest yacht marinas were taking place in Marmaris, Datca, Bodrum and Fethiye towns of Mugla, adding that the capacity of these marinas were nearly 7,000.

He said that the number of marinas in Turkey would rose to 39 after these three marinas were built.
