Rabottini wins stage, Peterson leads in Turkey

Italian Matteo Rabottini won stage five of the Tour of Turkey, his first professional victory, as Thomas Peterson of the USA went ahead in a General Classification shake-up.
Vini-Neri Sottoli's Rabottini, 23, beat Alexander Efimkine of Team Type 1 in a time of five hours, 51 minutes and 25 seconds after a 221km stage between Denizli and Fethiye, along Turkey’s Aegean and Mediterranean coastline.
Another Italian, Team Lampre-ISD’s Enrico Magazzini, was third as the tour’s longest stage saw the previous pace-setters bumped down the overall rankings.
Rabottini attacked the 10-man group he was part of with one kilometre left, as the peleton stretched out sufficiently to throw previous leader Bartosz Huzarski well behind.
Garmin-Cervelo’s Peterson now leads from Austria’s Cameron Wurf, with Russia’s Efimkine third.
Team NetApp’s Huzarski finished 12 minutes back.
Friday’s 184km sixth stage starts in Fethiye and ends in Finike.
